My manic week... and a bit! Began at Ladies Day, Royal Ascot!

Wow, what a week (and a few days) it's been! Not only have I moved house and made that massive commitment of moving in with the boyfriend! I have started a new job as well! Add nights of dinner with the girls around London and a fabulous day at Ascot it's no wonder I've struggled to keep up with my blog! But on this gorgeous sunny Saturday.. I'm out in my new garden with an ice cold drink ready to fill you all in!

Last week, I got a phone call from my best friend saying she had an extra ticket to Royal Ascot the following day and would I like to join her! Oh my gosh I was so happy and jumped at the chance straight away.

Only downside was I had no hat! Luckily for me my friend's sister actually makes the most gorgeous collection of fascinators and offered me one of her creations.

So we narrowed it down to these two as these matched the outfits I had been planning all day at work!

And voila! Here is my last minute Ladies Day Royal Ascot outfit complete with hat! This is me waiting for the Queen!

My fascinator: One off creation by my friend's sister (email me for her contact details as she really is an amazing artist and has made some gorgeous pieces that can be worn to weddings this summer!)
My dress: ASOS
My clutch: Dorothy Perkins
My shoes: Zara

Celebrating our wins on the races! No one would believe that for the last 20 years or so, I have placed an annual bet on the Grand National and until this year non of my horses ever came to win me any money. But this year- I won first on the National and also at the first two races at Ascot! I think I've found my calling!

Had a perfect day despite the odd showers, loved the people watching and spotting my favourite outfits and will definitely be heading back next year- with a bit more planning and an even more amazing hat!

Thought of the day..

My local tube station writes a 'Thought of the day' on a whiteboard every day and every morning I read these little messages to inspire my day ahead. They always have some sort of motivational meaning and are often quotes which really get me thinking.

Here are a few of my favourite ones that have been so far as I thought I would share these on my blog as and when I see ones that particularly lift my spirits- hoping to spread the love you see!

Does anyone know of any other train stations that write these kind of messages? What do you think of them when you see them? Or do you just walk past and ignore them?

My Saturday night.. Cocktails and a boogie at Kensington Roof Gardens

As I am starting to venture out a lot more around this amazing city I am heading out to lots of new places. This weekend I went to The Roof Gardens at High St Ken and had a brilliant night!

The weather wasn't too bad (surprisingly!) so was glad to ditch my wellies and glam up in my favourite new Topshop dress that arrived on Friday just in time!

And if there was ever a going out dress I would recommend to anyone it would be this scuba material peplum dress! It's probably the most flattering dress I have ever owned!
Being a bodycon design- I am always cautious of how it will fit and forever worry about any clinging to my not so good areas but this material is a dream! No spanks necessary and therefore spent the night completely comfortable dancing away feeling a million dollars! The colour is also not something I would usually go for but white for the summer is gorgeous!

As for the club itself.. it really took me by surprise! I wasn't expecting there to be such a good atmosphere- I honestly thought it was going to feel quite pretentious and therefore a little boring but I was utterly mistaken. The venue was beautiful, the gardens with the outside seating areas had a buzzy vibe and the band were cranking out some great tunes! Anyone for a bit of a Eurythmics 'Sweet Dreams' mash up.. can't quite remember what with but it was gooooood!

The drinks were flowing and the dancefloor busy until the early hours.. I decided to go for their signature drink- a Pink Flamingo although sad that there weren't any real ones wandering about the gardens! Next time, Next time!

Wednesday Wishlist

One thing I knew I wanted to include in my last blog was a weekly wishlist of my favourite things I'd seen around and longed for... and as it's a Wednesday- lets call it Wednesday Wishlist and make it a regular post!
I love this shoe: Miss Selfridge £42.00
Sassy bright green round toe court shoe, with a matelic faux snake heel and platfrom.
It's perfect for the summer (when it finally gets here!) and will brighten up any LBD.
This cute candle from Zara is £9.99 and will look great in my new flat. (I'm moving in a few weeks so there'll be plenty more house talk to come as I work on making it our gorgeous new home!)

And lastly I really want this dress from Motel Rocks for £28.00 for my night out with the girls this Friday!
Next day delivery- click : )

A fresh start...

Some of you (but not many) may know that I was writing a blog before and all of a sudden hit a brick wall with it and stopped posting! Writers block and a lack of ideas were to blame I guess but I also feel that the name and image I had created were kind of holding me back. I didn't feel like the things I wanted to write about would fit in and then worried that my followers would find everything a bit too random!

Well, that's me.. I'm a bit random really!

So, I've taken a little time out and had a long think about what direction I want this blog to go and what kind of posts people would find interesting... and voila! Here's My London Lifestyle.. a bit of everything from London fashion and beauty to my favourite things to do in London, places I would recommend and everything in between!
